LafargeHolcim Group started its operations in Jordan in cement in 1998 when the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan sold 36% of its shares in Jordan Cement Factories Company. In 2008, Lafarge entered into the Ready Mixed Concrete market by acquiring 51% of Aloul Group, one of the biggest concrete companies in Jordan at the time. LAFARGE Cement
Jordan Cement Factories' production capacity stood at 175,000 tons annually when it was first established, but increased to 2.3 million tons by 1983. In 1998, the Jordanian Government sold 36% of its shares to Lafarge Group - a worldwide leader in the cement industry.
Today, Lafarge Group owns 50.2% of the Company's shares. Lafarge Jordan Cement's current production capacity stands at 4 million tons.
The company owns two cement plants, one in Fuheis and another in Rashadiyah, and has an export terminal in Aqaba that was established in 1992.

In 2008, Lafarge Group acquired 51% of four Ready Mix Concrete (RMX) companies which had been present in Jordan for 32 years. Since the acquisition, we have:
Enforced Lafarge Group Health and Safety standards and processes.
Upgraded and developed our network with eight plants covering the Kingdom.
Implemented the biggest concrete lab in Jordan; over 30 laboratory tests are used to certify raw materials and concrete in its different phases.
Strengthened our quality standards (more than 60,000 cubes have been tested in 2015) demonstrating the outstanding quality of our products.
Equipped our plants with fully automated, state-of-the-art batching systems.
